Size Scale Multiplier

A size in an advanced model is simply a multiplication factor of the overall sign's original total size.

To understand that concept, let's break this down using an example.

  • A font has been set with the smallest letter height of 6 cm and for the smallest uppercase letters to be 10 cm
  • Size small has a value for size scale multiplier set to 1 and Size medium has a value for size scale multiplier set to 1.5

Scenario 1:

Customer types "e" and selects the medium size. Calculation: 6 cm smallest height x 1.5 size scale multiplier = 9 cm high

Scenario 2:

Customer types "B" and selects the small size. Calculation: 10 cm smallest height x 1 size scale multiplier = 10 cm high

The final width for both scenarios in based on a natural scale of the height.

We have created a short video to explain this concept further.
